Ellu poorna kozhukattai...SNC CHELLANGE




this is another month of trying southindian dish. this recipe i want to try but affraid wether i make it or not. i try my best but it does not come out perfectly. i am thankful toVirunthu Unna Vaanga Vijiarmaraj  for sharing this recipe . as she has a wonderful space with different recipes and mostly southindian recipes are super. i think every one visit her blog and see the good collection of recipes. we never forget the master mind behind this challenge Divya

ingredients
rice flour-1cup
oil-1tbsp
salt pinch of
water-1cup
FOR FILLING
seas am seeds-1/4 cup
coconut powder-1/4 cup
jaggery-i cup
green cardamon-1/2 tsp
method

roast seasam seeds . here i used white seasam seeds bec i did not find black til.grind half the seeds and half used as it is.heat 1 tbsp water add jaggery to it. when boil stain it in stainer so impurities are left. again put on fire add coconut when jaggery becomes forthy on top switch off the fire and seas am seeds and green cardamon powder. mix well and cool it
boil 1cup water with oil and salt. add this water to rice flour and knead a smooth dough.
leave it for 15 minutes.
make small balls. flatten on ur palms and make small chapati. fill the filling in centre and fold other side .seal all the sides. we can make it like modak
now take a idli tray and steamed for 10-12 minutes in steamer
serve hot......

Fresh methi leaves pulav


Ingredients
basmati rice-2cups
methi leaves-1 bunch
zeera-1tsp
tej patta-1
green peas--boiled 1/2 cup
carrot-2 cut finely
onion-1 cut into length
green chili-1
oil -2tbsp


Method
clean and wash methi and cut it finely.soak rice for 1/2 an hour
heat oil in pan .add tejpatta and zeera(cumminseeds). when crackled add onion .saute for 2 minutes.add methi and green chili ,peas and carrot fry for minute.now add rice and water. when boiled slow the fire and cover it cook till done.
it is one pot meal eat with pickle or curd

Moong Dal Payasam.......SNC CHALLENGE



 



this is another month of SNC. we enjoyed it and meet our blogger friend every month. thinks to Divya who is started this wonderful event.this month challenge is given by Divya herself .i liked the recipe as it is used as  dessert which very light to eat and easy to make. Divya has wonderful space. her presentation of each recipe is super. i think every one like to visit her blog.

Ingredients
yellow moong dal-1cup
raw rice--2tbsp
milk-1cup
coconut---1/2 cup grinding
green cardamon-2 crushed
jaggary-3/4 cup
desi ghee-2tbsp
cashew nut---2tbsp
Method



soak rice and dal for 1/2 an hour.pressure cook it for ten minutes on slow fire with 2 cup water.
Mash it with masher.


 add milk to it and mix well. put it on slow fire and boil it for 2 minutes.add jaggery to it and boil for 1mniute. here i used sugar as jaggery is not available. after that add grinding coconut and cardamon. boil for 2 minutes
 . add pinch of yellow color. switchoff the stove.



heat ghee in a pan and fry cashew nut.




Now serve hot or cold payasam decorated with cashew nut........

Mini paneer stuffed pie ........desi style




Ingrdients
aashirwad atta-1 1/2 cu
yeast--1tsp
sugar-14 tsp
salt pinch of
oil--1tbsp
For filling
paneer 100gm
onion-1
tomato-1 small
green chili-1
pepper-1/2 tsp
salt to taste
oil -1tsp



Method
soak yeast in a lukewarm water.add sugar.leave it till bubbles come out.take atta in a bowl.add salt and oil.nead the dough to smooth.cover it wit wet cloth and place in warm for one hour.
For filling
heat oil in a pan add onion. saute it and add tomato and green chili to it. fry for 2 minutes add salt and pepper. add paneer andchopped coriander leaves.keep aside and cool.
Now make small balls of atta. roll it cut it into desired shape.take one part and fill with paneer filling.top with anothe part .make all the pies like this.
heat the oven for 15 minutes at 140%. brush the pie with egg or milk.bake it for 15-20 minutes.
Eat with sauce or salsa
