Kadhi Palak - Spinach in spiced yogurt curry.....blog hop wednesday

Today isthe 6th week ofblog hop wednesday startedby Radhika Today i am paired with Nirmla but some confusion before i postedNirmala's recipe instead of Anamika.so today i post ANAMIKA of taste junction.she  has a wonderful space with many innovative anddelicious recipes.she has fabupous collection of baking dishes.so visit her blog and collect tasty recipes.Ilikepalak kadi very much so i choosethis recipe
it isrich in iron also.

Ingrediemts
Besan: 1 cup
Palak: 1 bunch, chopped
Coriander seeds: 1 tsp

Mustard seeds: 1 tsp

Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
Methi (fenugreek) seeds: 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder: 1 tsp

Red chilli powder: 1 tsp
Hing: 1/2 tsp

Sour Curd: 3 cups

Onion: 1 medium size chopped

garlic-4-5

Cooking oil: 1 tbsp

Ghee: 1 tbWater: 3 cups

Garam masala: 1/2 tsp

Salt: To taste

Method:Mix curd, besan, water, salt, turmeric powder and chilli powder to make a thin paste and keep it aside. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, coriander seeds and cumin seeds. Once they crackle, add methi seeds and fry for 30 seconds. Now add onions and garlic and fry till it turns brown. Add palak and kadi paste and let it boil on high flame. Now Cook it for 1/2 hour on low flame. Stir to avoid besan sticking at the bottom. Once cooked, add garam masala.

Tempering: Heat ghee and add hing and red chilli powder to it. Sprinke this on Kadi before serving.

Variation:

1. Vegetables like carrot, potato can be added to kadi in the beginning.

  32. Hi, Santosh. I just chanced upon your blog. I generally cook Kadhi with radish leaves but they are not always available. Spinach sounds good. I'm gonna cook it tonight. Looking forward to it!

  34. Excellent, I was in hunt for a good kadi recipe and I think I will be making it this weekend, let you know soon.

I always love steaming hot kadi and steaming hot white rice together. But have not made it together like this. And I'll be making this soon now.
