Yellow dal




We cook this dal when we feel like eating something light. This dal is consumed in North India as tur dal is consumed in south India. This dal is a mix of massoor/red dal and moong dal. It
 is delicious.

Ingredients

Red masoor dal-1cup
Moong dal-1/2 cup
Onions-1
ginger garlic-paste-1/2 tsp
green chili-1
coriander leaves
turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
red chili powder-1/4 tsp
salt to taste
oil for tempering
Method
Wash both dals and soak for 1/2 an hour .now take 3cups of water in a pressure cooker and add turmeric powder&salt .when water boiled add dals and pressure cook for 2 whistles.open the lid and add chopped coriander in it.
Heat oil in a pan. add zeera.when crackled add onion fry it till brown . add ginger garlic past and fry.add tomato and green chili fry till oil separate.pour this tarka into dal and mix well.It is ready to eat. 
Eat with chapati or rice!!!!

    how are you? I have missed so many of your great recipes and wont have time to read all forget about cooking. But I have a good mind to try this dal and the one with Udad dal.
    The very thought of going to sahara again is very depressing particularly without kitchen and internet ..anyway FB Bharo-se in the desert office.
