Besan ka Halwa with a difference


Ingredients:
Besan: 1 cup
Milk: 2 tbsp
Sugar: 1 cup
Desi Ghee: 1/2 cup
Safron (optional)
Water: 2 cups
Khoya (mava): 100 gm (optional)
Dry fuits for garnishing

Method:
Place besan in a plate and sprinkle milk on it. Mix it and then seave. This will prepare suji out of besan.
Heat ghee in a pan and add besan suji to it. Fry till leaves ghee. Now add sugar and water to it. Stir and cover for 5 minutes. Add khoya and mix it well.
Garnish with dry fruits and serve hot.

Note:
Besan suji fries faster than normal besan

Eat n' Drink Corn soup




I had bought some fresh corns which were going waste. So thought of making soup of them and it came out very well. Everybody at home liked it, hence sharing it with all...

Ingredients:
Fresh Corn seeds: 1 piece corn
Carrot: 1 tbsp finely chopped and boiled
Beans: 1 tbsp finely chopped and boiled
Capsicum: 1 tbsp finely chopped
Black pepper powder: 1 tsp
White sauce: 2 tsp
Soya Sauce: 1/2 tbsp
Water: 3 cups
Salt: To taste

Method:
Crush half of corn seeds in a grinder. Mix it with the remaining and water and pressure cook for 7 minutes. Add all vegetables into it, black pepper,  salt, sauces and boil for another 5 minutes. It is now ready to eat.

Variation:
White sauce can be replaced with a paste of corn flour and butter.

Paneer Kofta - Simplified

Ingredients:
Cottage cheese: 100 gm
Potato: 2 boiled and mashed
Besan: 1 tbsp
Onion: 2 medium, paste
Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder: 1 tsp
Coriander powder: 1 tbsp
Chilly powder: 1 tsp
Tomato puree: 1/2 cup
Paste of Musk melon, water melon and cucumber seeds: 2 tbsp
Green chillies: 2-3 chopped
Coriander leaves: chopped
Garam Masala: 1 tsp
Cooking Oil
Water: 2 cups
Salt: To taste

Method:
Mix paneer, potato and besan. Add chopped green chillies, coriander, 1/2 tsp garam masala and salt. Make balls of this mixture and deep fry to make koftas.
Heat oil in a pan and add onion and ginger garlic paste. Fry till it turns brown. Add dry masala and tomoto puree and mashed paneer and fry till it leaves oil. Add paste of all the seeds. Pour water and boil. Now add garam masala.
15 minutes before serving, place koftas in a dish and pour boiled gravy on it.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with chapatis or rice.
Tip:
1. To prepare paneer at home, add 2 tbsp vinegar in 1 litre of boiling milk and let it split.
2. Kaju paste having more calories is replaced with seeds paste with less calories in this recipe without compromising on taste.

White Mutter Tikki

 


















Ingredients:
dry white mutter:200gm
coriander powder:1tbsp
Red chilli powder: 1/2 tsp
Garam masala: 1/2 tsp
Cooking oil: 4 tbsp
Coriander leaves
Corn flour: 4tbsp
Chat masala tsp
onion: 2medium chopped
Green chillies: 2-3

Method:
Soak mutter for 4-5 hours. Pressure cook it with less water for 6-7 minutes or till tender. When hot, add green chilly; onion, coriander leaves, ginger and all dry masala except chat masala. Let it cool. Now spread cornflour on the plate, make mutter tikki and rollin cornflour so that whole tikki is covered. Add cooking oil in a non-stick and shallow fry tikki on slow fire till crisp. Serve hot with meethi chutney made of tamrind and jaggery, and green chuteny. Sprinkle chat masala and onion before serving.

Variation:
You can also add curd to it.
It is chatpati-chat... always tempting...

Chocolate Cake
















Ingredients:
Maida: 1 1/2 cup
Eggs: 3
Sugar: 3/4cup
Oil or butter: 1/2cup
Vanila essence: 5-6drops
Baking powder: 1 1/2 tsp
Baking Soda: 1/2tsp
Chocolate: 3-4pieces

Method:
Mix eggs, sugar and butter in blender and blend it for 2-3 minutes. Sieve maida flour and baking powder and add vanilla essence to it. Add this into batter and blend 2 minutes. Now add baking soda. Grease a dish and spread batter in it. Melt cholocate pieces and pour it in the batter as shown in the picture. Leave it for 5-7 minutes. Place the dish in microwave oven for 6 minutes.
And it is ready to eat....
